Death & Rebirth

Surrender to the calling, for one must transpire to transform anew. Death & rebirth of expired versions of self into the new, to live a thousand lives in a single breath.

Death & Rebirth

Death and rebirth; death, then rebirth. To die then to come alive again and again: the cyclic nature of life. To truly live is to perish over and over, to shed past versions of yourself that no longer serve you, to start anew. How refreshing, liberating, to have the opportunity to live a thousand lives in a single breath? Nature shows the way, constantly shifting between this balance, fully embracing the light with the dark, death with life. Oh, mortality, clinging to our souls with somber elegance. We have died countless times, and have yet to experience the same passing twice, and yet still more deaths and rebirths are awaiting.

Since we opened our eyes to this world we have been shedding layers of past forms, beliefs, values. As children we are molded by the external, encouraged to grow a certain way, to adopt and behave to the external we've been exposed to. As adults we become lost, having expired many times over yet reborn still without fully understanding. Why, then is there still so much pain and unhappiness in this shifting between forms? Resistance to the natural cycle, to the ebb and flow of rebirth and new opportunity. We've become fearful of death, or too comfortable with this current form, that we do not realize this resistance doesn't prevent us from dying, but rather keeps up stuck within this death, succumbing to a living demise of our own [un]doing. Death is inevitable for it feeds the soils for new life.

To you, dear reader, I ask you to open your eyes, to take a deep breath, and allow death's comforting embrace to take you; to shed the parts of you that no longer serve your new life. It is time for another rebirth, to open a new door along your journey. We cannot truly live again, fully, until we complete the cycle: from a curious child, to wandering adult, to wonder filled child once more. Just as death gives a chance to return to familiar soils, to reembrace the Earth and be reunited with who we are. Death and rebirth: the return to self.
